With the rapid economic development and science and technology constantly improving, people’s pursuit of quality of life has become increasingly high, and embedded smart home technology has been rapidly developing, which designing a safe, convenient, comfortable and efficient smart home system become the primary goal of smart home company. Market demand and the development prospects of computer, Internet, embedded and wireless sensor network technology develop and promote smart home technology continually. So smart home company in the world in the field of research on the design of intelligent home has come into being the " a hundred schools contend" scene, but there have been inconsistent standards of industry communication, uneven technical research’s level and other defects, to a certain extent, restricting the development of smart home industry.Considering the number of factors in the overall system’s scalability, reliability, availability, cost, power consumption, size comprehensively, and based on the use of embedded ARM and Linux, Zigbee’s wireless network communications, sensors, microcontroller and Qt graphical applications interface technology, this paper puts forward and completes the solution of embedded intelligent home systems, meantime, designs system’s relevant circuit modules, driver programs and software applications to verify the feasibility of this design. Embedded smart-home system consists of four parts:intelligent gateway, Zigbee coordinator, wireless communication network and Zigbee’s terminal nodes, and achieve the following functions mainly:a local touch screen or PC monitor, obtaining the indoor temperature, burglar alarm, light bulbs’ switch control.In order to meet the growing needs of people’s life, the residentially intelligent technology will develop rapidly, and the functions of embedded intelligent home system will become more comprehensive, more powerful, therefore, this paper considers the main issue that designing and implementing a embedded intelligent home system is to meet the current needs of people’s lives and to facilitate future hardware and software maintenance, expansion, upgrading. To solve this problem, the system uses intelligent gateway S5PV210processor chip, U-Boot, embedded Linux, Qt graphical interface, and respectively regards them as controller, boot loader, kernel, application of software. A wireless communication network in the system uses Zigbee’s wireless star-network topology and protocol stack, and coordinator node and terminal node selects TI’s CC2530chip, so that the entire system’s network could run reliably and stably, at the same time also can easily expand the system’s function module and terminal node.Finally, this paper designs software programs and tests relevant functions and performance of embedded intelligent home system. Test results show that the system can run stably and reliably, achieve the functional requirements of embedded intelligent home system before designed, and reach the multiple indicators already set:easily scalable, low cost, low power, high performance, easy to use.
