In modern life, products of rubber and plastic have increasingly become anindispensable product of people’s lives. But the rubber machine has not got the essence ofprogress. Now the rubber equipments, such as mixing mill, internal mixer, refiner, also usethe traditional methods, which used the asynchronous motor and gear box to drive theequipment. But the development of the rubber industry has been hampered by the lowefficiency of the gear motor. So the energy-efficient permanent magnet synchronous motorattracts more and more attention, Especially external rotor permanent magnet synchronousmotor for the roller system of the rubber equipment. Therefore this article design a newtype external rotor permanent magnet direct-drive roller to achieve the goal ofenergy-efficient.This paper analyses the structure of the external rotor permanent magnet synchronousmotor, and summarized the main characteristic of the motor. Combining with the generalprinciple of a permanent magnet motor, designed a prototype, and introduces the designprocess in detail. And make an external rotor permanent magnet synchronous motormodeling of the prototype under the ANSOFT software for2d and3d simulation ofelectromagnetic field. Get the results of the prototype, as flux density distribution, loadcurve, no-load back electromotive, etc. Verify the proper fraction slot weakens the role ofthe cogging torque. At the same time, the paper analyzes the effect of the axial section ofpermanent magnet magnetic eddy current loss. Based on3D finite element analysis of axialsection, analyzes the effect of the permanent magnet eddy current loss by the spaceharmonic.Then proved that section of the permanent magnet can reduce the eddy currentloss effectively, thereby reducing the phenomenon of permanent magnet demagnetizationby overheating.Because the external rotor permanent magnet synchronous motor which is designedby this paper need to built in the roll of the rubber refiner, where has the high temperatureand closed environment, the motor’s thermal load need to be studied. Combined with heattransfer method and the finite element method study the temperature field of the prototype.This paper discusses the convective heat transfer coefficient between the natural cooling and the forced-air cooling on the motor. And on this basis,simulate the prototype for the3D model by the computer software, and obtained the relevant temperature data. Ensurethe motor can still work normally under the particular conditions.And this paper proved that the external rotor permanent magnet direct-drive roller canbe used in all the roller rubber equipments. And put forward a new direction for the rubberequipments. Contributing to the external rotor permanent magnet synchronous motortechnology.
