As the grid size increased significantly,in order to ensure the safety and the optimaloperation of grid, one of the existing urgent problems is the electric transmission networktrend for effective regulation and control. The optimization control ability of FlexibleAlternative Current Transmission Systems is recognized at home and abroad, while theUnified Power Flow Controller is one of the most representative FACTS controllers.Therefore, research on the optimal power flow algorithm with UPFC has importantimplications for safety and economic operation of the grid.Basing on the analysis of UPFC steady property, the writer has established theequivalent model of UPFC and the unified grid optimization format with UPFC. A kind ofdecomposition coordination optimization strategy is uesd to solve the optimal power flowproblem with UPFC, which is decomposed into inside and outside two layer alternatealgorithm: the outer adopts the intelligent search algorithm to solve the branch equivalentactive power; the inner is based on the outer results and adopts the existing numericaloptimal power flow calculation method to solve the network optimization tide runningstate. By alternating iterative calculation between inside and outside layer, the UPFC canachieve optimal control of syatm. This paper adopts samples to verify the effectiveness ofthe proposed algorithm.Basing on the equivalent model of UPFC, the writer has established the equivalentmodel of M-UPFC. The decomposition coordination optimization power flow algorithm isused to solve M-UPFC optimal power flow problems.
