China is one of the countries in which the problem of overhead transmission line icing galloping is most serious, in recent years, tripping of the overhead transmission line galloping has the characteristics of high frequency and large range of influence, especially in2010, there were two events of large-scale overhead transmission linegalloping in the northern coastal area of Shandong, and there were64line tripping accidentsdue to the overhead transmission line galloping in Weifang, which would bring great harm to the security and stability of power grid of Weifang and cause huge economic loss.Overhead transmission line galloping is the problem about fullynonlinear vibration, it’s difficult to research and solve this problem, after years of research, experts and engineers from home and abroad have acquired some achievements,but the results still can’t effectively avoid the occurrence of overhead transmission line galloping.The typical events of line galloping have been analyzed,variousgalloping prevention measures have been introduced, classified and evaluated in this paper. General factors of galloping accidents in Weifang have been analyzed, specific and targetedgalloping prevention measures have been propounded. In the case of actual verification, the galloping problem can be restrained by phase-to-phasespacer, with the galloping prevention measures having been improved and perfected, the treatment principles and guidance for the galloping problem in Weifang power grid have been formulated finally. Research production in this paper would provide the significantguidanceof galloping prevention for the operation, project and construction of overhead transmission line in Weifang power grid, what’s more, the research results in this paper shows great significance to the level of line galloping prevention and the safe and stable operation of power grid in Weifang.
