In this paper, ginkgo biloba exocarp as the experimental materials, we researched thefollowing sections: Active ingredients were extracted, separated and the conditions wereoptimized; The effects ginkgo biloba exocarp had on the feeding behaviour and growth anddevelopment and related enzymes of insects; The effect the extracts had on the plants growth; The activities killing the Bursaphelenchus xylophilus and suppressing mildew growth. The mainresults were summarized as follows:1. The test that conditions of ginkgo acids extracting were optimizedThe optimum conditions from orthogonal test were1:4of75%ethanol as solid-liquid ratio, extracting by reflusing at45℃and4h each time. Analysis of variance for four factors showedthat the solvent concentration could affect extraction efficiency significantly.2. Effects on the feeding behaviour and growth and development and related enzymes ofPlutella xylostella larveThe extracts from ginkgo biloba exocarp had antifeedant activities and poison on thePlutella xylostella larve. The non-selective AFC50was34.7mg·mL-1and the selective AFC50was78.3mg·mL-1. The corrected mortality was41.7%when the concentration of extracts was100mg·mL-1. The pupation and the weight of pupa reduced significantly. After the leaves in thetreated group were eaten by the larve, the SOD activity was activated significantly or verysignificantly at4h,36h and48h; the CAT activity was controlled significantly or verysignificantly at4h and24h; the POD activity was restrained in4h,12h,24h and36h, then wasraised significantly at48h; the GST activity was actived significantly or very significantly at12h,36h and48h.3. Effects on the seed germination and seedling growth by ginkgo biloba exocarpThe extracts had activities on the cabbage seeds germination that promoting growth in lowconcentrations and inhibiting growth in high concentrations, but had only activities on thecucumber and radish seeds germination and seedling growth that inhibiting growth in highconcentrations.4. The activities of killing the Bursaphelenchus xylophilus and suppressing mildew growth. The effects were different on different mildews in suppressing growth. The effects wereobvious in high concentrations.
