Pugionium dolabratum Maxim. is Brassicaceae Pugionium Gaertn., biennial herb.Grows in desert and semi-desert of flow or semi-mobile dunes.Has a high nutritional value and important ecological value. Since a long time predatory excavation and the recent deterioration of ecological environment, resulting in decreasing distribution in nature, restricting the sustainable development and utilization of the of this quality psammophytes germplasmo In1992, Pugionium dolabratum Maxim, has been included in the endangered species.Reported is increasing about Pugionium dolabratum Maxim., but has not been reported about dormant physiology of Pugionium dolabratum Maxim.Pugionium dolabratum Maxim. seed has dormancy characteristics, artificial seeding cultivation germination rate is low and has uneven emergence of physiological disorders.Therefore, in this paper, a systematic study of Pugionium dolabratum Maxim. seed dormancy depth and mechanism of dormancy.The main conclusions are as follows:1Pugionium dolabratum Maxim. seeds have10-month period of dormancy.2The leach liquor of Pugionium dolabratum Maxim. peel and seed has inhibitory effect on germination rate of cabbage seed, which not only can inhibit seed germination, but also effect on seedling growth, it illustrates that intrinsic inhibitor contained in Pugionium dolabratum Maxim. peel and seed which can inhibit germination is one of the causes of dormancy.3The inhibitor of germination is contained in various organic phases of dormant Pugionium dolabratum Maxim peel and seed, which not only can inhibit germination rate, frash weight and dry weight of the cabbage seed, but also can inhibit its seed itself, the seed which dormancy is broken also contains inhibitor of germination which is less than the dormant seed, but mainly focuses on the methanol phase.4GC-MS analysis shows variety of germination inhibitory material is isolated and identified from organic-phase leach liquor of the Pugionium dolabratum Maxim seed, mainly esters, benzenes, organic acids, phenols, aldehydes, alcohols, etc.To sum up, Pugionium dolabratum Maxim. seed’s dormancy mechanism is:the inhibitor of germination contained in the peel and seed lead to dormancy.This study fills the blank of Pugionium dolabratum Maxim seed physiology research, which has theoretical significance and prospect of application.
