With the deepening of desert plants hyperspectral research, the increase in demand forspectral data processing and spectral feature extraction functions. Through the establishmentof specialized desert plants spectral database system to achieve the Xinjiang desert plantstypical spectral data collection, storage and management functions, while improving thespectral data processing and analysis capabilities,enabling ground measured desert plantsspectral data can be fully applied, as well as provided effective service and technical supportto the hyperspectral remote sensing quantitative monitoring of the study area and similarregions desert ecosystem recovery.This paper studies the methods, techniques and implementation process involved in thespectral database system of Xinjiang typical desert plants, the major work and results includedare as follows:(1)Determined the techniques and methods that should be adopted in the field spectral dataacquisition, spectral data processing and feature extraction and spectral matching on this study.Obtained the spectral data of a typical desert plants (Populus, Tamarix, and Alhagi sparsifoliaof, such as more than20kinds) that spectral databases needed and supporting attributeinformation and related statistics by field measurements in two sampling areas of the lowerreaches of the Tarim River and the Turpan desert botanical garden using SVC HR-768portable spectroradiometer. Made preprocessing and data specifications to the originalspectral data and laid the data foundation for the establishment of a spectral database system.(2)Designed the system function module, the system architecture and database dataspecification, data storage, data model and data table physical structure according to thesystem application requirements and business processes, establish a spectral database of theXinjiang typical desert plants in SQL Server2008, developed and implemented the Xinjiangtypical desert plants spectral database system by using C/S structure, C#, IDL and AE mixedprogramming language in the Microsoft Visual Studio2010development environment andachieved the spectral data management, query and display functions.(3)Integrated the common spectrum processing and analysis methods such as smoothspectral, envelope removal, the spectral differential,spectral absorption feature extraction,red-edge parameter extraction, vegetation index, spectral matching recognition into thedatabase system, realized the spectral data processing, feature extraction and plant spectralmatching recognition functions based on desert plants spectral database, which gives supportfor further plant spectral studies.
