Peanut was an important oilseed crop in China. Plant-parasitic nematodes didserious harm to peanut, but were normally overlooked. In this paper, the parasiticnematodes on peanut were identified and its community structure and hazards wereanalysised.Peanut-parasitic nematodes were identified both by morphological characteristicsand molecular biology. A total of12genera and14species of parasitic nematodeswere identified, including Filenchus vulgaris, Rhabdotylenchus guangdongensis,Ditylenchus myceliophagus, Tylenchorhynchus annulatus, Pratylenchus coffeae,Hirschmanniella oryzae, Helicotylenchus dihystera, Rotylenchulus reniformis,Meloidogyne incognita, Meloidogyne hapla, Criconemella ornata, Aphelenchusavenae, Aphelenchus eremitus and Aphlenchoides composticola.By analysised the species and quantity of nemotodes in different regions andtheir community structures were determined. The study results showed that thepeanut-parasitic nematodes fauna between the northern and southern parts of Chinahad obvious differences. It appeared diversified for the peanut-parasitic nematodesfauna in Fujian. There were5types of community structure: In the first type, thePratylenchus coffeae was the dominant population, which caused rot on roots andpods of peanut, seriously affected the yield and quality of peanut. In the second type, the Criconemella ornata and Tylenchorhynchus annulatus were the dominantpopulation, which caused bad spots on peanut’s roots and pods, made peanut weakand low yield. In the third type, the Rotylenchulus reniformis was the dominantpopulation, which caused a certain hazards, but the adult female worms were notfound on peanut. In addition, the Filenchus vulgaris and the Meloidogyne incognitawere the dominant population, which did little harm to peanut. The adult femaleworms of Meloidogyne incognita were not found. The peanut-parasitic nematodesfauna in the northern was single. In Julu County, Hebei Province, Meloidogyne haplawas the dominant population, which made peanut weak, yellow, even dead, andseriously affected the quality and yield of peanut.
