Recently, there is a multiple infection phenomenon of worms, viruses and bacteriain scale and intensive hogpen. Pig coccidiosis provided opportunities for the outbreak ofthe epidemic disease and brought large economic losses. Development and selectingsafety, high efficiency, low toxicity and broad-spectrum helminthic play an importantrole on prevention and control of pig coccidiosis and other pig diseases. At present,Toltrazuril Sulfone is a better helminthic in the clinical use, but this helminthic wasmainly applied to poultry, rabbits, horses and other animals, was rarely used in pigs. Therefore, this study analyzed the pharmacology and pharmacodynamics of ToltrazurilSulfone in pigs and its influence on pigs. The objective of this study is to providetheoretical basis for Toltrazuril Sulfone applying in scale hogpen. Research results are asfollows:1The fifty piglets infected with coccidiosis were weighed and randomly dividedinto five groups, including blank group; control group, piglets of this group were orallytaken toltrazuril; three experimental groups, piglets of each group were respectivelytaken toltrazuril sulfone in the oral dose of10mg/kg bw,20mg/kg bw,30mg/kg bw.The study observed and analyzed the preventive and therapeutic roles of toltrazurilsulfone on piglet coccidiosis, and the effects of toltrazuril sulfone on piglets growth andhealthy condition. The results demonstrated that in contrast with the blank group and thecontrol group, the daily weight gain and the feed translation rate of piglets weresignificantly higher in experimental groups. However the diarrhea rate, the mortality rateand the egg drainage rate were obviously lower in experimental groups as compared tothe blank and contrast groups. In addition, toltrazuril sulfone improved the pathologydamage of coccidiosis on the intestinal mucosa. This research suggested that toltrazurilsulfone can exert perfect therapeutic effect in treatment of piglet coccidiosis.2The forty healthy piglets were weighed and randomly divided into four groups.Piglets in the blank control group were orally taken saline water according to0.5ml/kgbw. Piglets in low dose, middle dose and high dose experimental group were respectivelytaken toltrazuril sulfone in the oral dose of10mg/kg bw,20mg/kg bw,30mg/kg bw.This study was to observe the effects of toltrazuril sulfone on the piglet body weight, feed consumption, intake, physiology, biochemistry and histology. The research showedthat when comparing the different dose experimental group with the contrast group, therewere no significant differences in piglet daily intake, spirit health, blood physiology indicators, serum biochemistry indicators and urine indicators. Although there wasdecrease of piglet average daily weight gain in three experimental groups, no significantdifference was detected between the three experimental groups and the contrast group.Additionally, toltrazuril sulfone oral cataplasm didn’t visibly destroy the organizationalmorphology of the stomach, duodenum, jejunum, colon, kidney and lymph nodes. Theseresults provided important pharmacology and safety foundation for toltrazuril sulfoneoral cataplasm in preventing and curing pig coccidiosis. These experimental results demonstrates that toltrazuril sulfone has the features ofhigh efficiency, low toxicity and broad-spectrum. Toltrazuril sulfone is difficult to formdrug resistance, it would be a new anti-coccidian drug in future and has the broadprospects of promotion and utilization.
