| As an important interface between vegetation and atmosphere, LAI has been widely applied in global changes researches. In this paper, the inter-comparisons were conducted over global (1982-1999) and China (1982-1999,2003-2009) among various remote sensing dataset based on different sensors, in order to understand their consistencies and differences. Additionally, the simulated LAI with Beijing Climate Center Climate System Model (BCC_CSM1.1) as well as other models in CMIP5were assessed of current climate, and projected under different scenarios (rcp26,rcp45, rcp60and rcp85).The results showed that, even with different source data and retrieval algorithm, the remote-sensing datasets had consistent temporal variations, but with significant magnitudial differences. Generally, the LAI datasets made by CAS was less than the others, especially compared with AVHRR data (1982-1999).Results from the Beijing Climate Center Climate System Model version1.1(BCC_CSM1.1) have presented capabilities to reproduce the climatic features of LAI variations, same as other CMIP5model simulations, but with great spreads. This is related to the differences in parameteri-zation schemes, the vegetation classification, and so on.Under the different scenarios, the LAI in China will generally increase, with similar range before the year2050. Different trends show after2050. The LAI will decrease under rcp26, steady under rcp45, while increase under rcp60and rcp85scenarios. The changes of surface air temperature are consistent with those of LAI. |
