This research was conducted at the experiment station of Heilongjiang Academy ofAgricultural Sciences. To evaluate genetic diversity and population structure of wheat germplasmin The Russian Far East and Heilongjiang Province of China, we characterized a set of56accessions of wheat from Russia and56strains from Heilongjiang Province using31SSR primers. The results showed that:1. A total of155alleles were detected with an average of2.9321alleles per locus. Theaverage value of PIC was0.6071. Those above indicated that the level of polymorphism ofselected SSR primers was highly.2. Genetic diversity of stains of Heilongjiang province is lower than that of The Russian FarEast.3. The germplasm resources were divided into2clusters, which are in accordance with theirgeographical origin. The structure of wheat germplasm resources was simple. There were threeindependent groups, which could indicate the relationship of the accessions clearly. It is reliable tostudy the diversity of genetic resources by meaning of SSR markers.4. Highly significant variance was found in both populations and individuals. The level ofgenetic differentiation was high and the gene flow was low.5. The genetic relationship and diversity of wheat are closely associated with theirgeographical origin and selection pressure of human. The genetic distance among stains in thesame breeding institutions of Heilongjiang Province was close indicated that it is necessary tobroadening the genetic base.
