This test adopt split-plot design, studies the effects of different nitrogen topdressing stage and different nitrogen topdressing quantity on millet growth, yield and quality, in order to choose the best period of nitrogen and nitrogen topdressing proportion. The test measured and analyzed millet height, internode length, internode diameter, chlorophyll content, Chlorophyll fluorescence parameters, yield, crude protein, starch, etc. The results show that, different nitrogen topdressing stage and different nitrogen topdressing quantity have obvious effect on millet growth, yield and quality. Proper topdressing nitrogen treatment can increase millet yield, exorbitant nitrogen treatment will affect the yield and quality of millet instead. Choose the appropriate nitrogen proportion to ensure millet yield increase and quality improvement. The main research results of this test are as follows:1. From the morphological index, jointing nitrogen affects millet height obviously. They are positive correlation between plant height and nitrogen topdressing amount, the effect on plant the first internode length and plant height are basic consistent, the influence of booting nitrogen is not significant; The maximum first internode treatment is A3B2, the effect of nitrogen topdressing stage is not obvious; Put more nitrogen at jointing stage will decrease the internode diameter, may arouse lodging phenomenon; The effect on ear length and ear diameter under nitrogen treatment are significantly higher than no nitrogen treatment.2. From the photosynthetic characteristics, different nitrogen treatment affects millet leaf chlorophyll content obviously. With the topdressing nitrogen amount increased, leaf chlorophyll relative content was increased first and then decreased. In different nitrogen topdressing stage, the nitrogen topdressing amount is150kg/ha, leaf chlorophyll relative content value is to the highest, too high nitrogen will decrease leaf chlorophyll relative content instead. The value of leaf chlorophyll relative content under nitrogen treatment are significantly higher than no nitrogen treatment. And its decline rate later stage comparison with no nitrogen treatment is relatively slow, leaf function period delayed, leaf photosynthetic efficiency increased. The chlorophyll fluorescence parameters of difference nitrogen treatment different significantly, with the increase of nitrogen content, chlorophyll fluorescence parameters of millet, such as Fv/Fm, Fv/FO, Yeild are increased firstly and then decreased, the process A2B2is the maximum value, the photosynthetic capacity is strongest, make for the accumulation and transport of nutrients; The maximum fluorescence yield (Fm) is increased with the increase of nitrogen content, qN decreased firstly and then increased, qN value is the largest when no nitrogen treatment and nitrogen topdressing amount largest.3. From the analysis of yield and yield components, select the reasonable nitrogen topdressing stage and proportion can increase millet yield significantly. The test show that, with the increase of nitrogen topdressing amount, millet yield, grain weight per ear, thousand seed weight are quadratic curve relationship, are all first increased and then decreased. When total nitrogen content Less than420.31kg/ha, millet yield will increase with the increase of nitrogen topdressing amount. It will be a downward trend when the value higher than it. When total nitrogen content is low, increase the nitrogen content is advantageous to millet yield, when the total nitrogen content is high, reduce the amount of later topdressing nitrogen ratio is in favor of foxtail millet yield. The treatment A2B2has the best performance, millet yield is7121kg/ha, single spike grain weight is19.02g, thousand seed weight is2.83g. Think about the millet output, the best topdressing nitrogen way is jointing nitrogen150kg/ha, booting nitrogen150kg/ha.4. From the grain quality, the effect of Different nitrogen treatment on millet protein content and starch content is different significantly. With the increase of nitrogen content, grain protein content increased gradually. The starch content increased at first and then decreased. When the amount of nitrogen is less than264kg/ha,total starch content increase with the amount of nitrogen, after nitrogen is higher than the value of total starch content reduced. In this test, after nitrogen treatment, the millet protein content can be increased from9.48%to9.48%, total starch content increased from57.82%to66.09%.Grain protein content with A3B3highest, total starch content to A3B1processing the highest. The amount of nitrogen topdressing at elongation stage is low, Total starch content of booting stage increased with the amount of topdressing nitrogen is on the rise, at a high level when jointing stage the amount of nitrogen topdressing, late increase of nitrogen amount can affect the accumulation of total starch content..
