Sargassum fusiforme (Sargassum fusiforme (Harv) Setch), a kind of warm temperate zoneseaweed, is the member of Phaeophyta algae. S. fusiforme is not only a kind of food, but also aChinese herbal medicine. It is an important kind of algae to the foreign exchange economic incoastal region of East Sea,China. The farming area is more than1000hectares. For a long time, the S. fusiforme farming rely mainly on the acquisition of natural populations as seedlings, and itwas cultivated in the marine, but this kind of breeding methods cause serious damage to the naturalpopulations resources of S. fusiforme. The S. fusiforme wildlife resources have been on the verge ofdepletion in many parts of China, the key to solve this problem is develop an efficient and practicalartificial breeding technology. The artificial culture techniques of S. fusiforme sporophyte conformsto improve the farming technique and fulfil the demand of large-scale farming of seed. It meets tothe needs of breeding seed through collected mature young spores of S. fusiforme. We observed the process of S. fusiforme sperm-egg binding and the fertilized eggs developinto young sporophyte seedlings through tissue sections and microscopic observation. When thesea water temperature reaches to18°C, the receptacles start to grow and speed up with thetemperature rises. When the water temperature reached25℃, the eggs begin to discharge fromfemale receptacles genital fossa, and adhere to the surface. At the same time, the sperm sacs aredischarged from the reproductive nest, and then the swimming sperm are released from the spermsac. The sperms swim to the eggs and form the fertilized eggs. At the first time, one fertilized eggcell divides into two cells, and then, the cells form a multi-column cell embryo sporophyte throughvertical and horizontal split. In this process, the number of top cell columns is maximum, while thebasal part of the cell division is slower. So the shape of the germ spore is like a pear. When theembryonic sporophyte grow to16lines of cells, and,the bottom of the downward portion of the basal cells form4to8protrusions, and they are the rudiment of the rhizoid. That is to say, therhizoids are divided from from the bottom cells of the embryo sporophore. The rhizoid protrusionsgrow quickly, form to obvious rhizoids and adhere to attachment after1or2days, and then itdevelop into a young sporophyte seedlings completely. The text aim to study on the artificial breed and cultivation for the sporophytes of S. fusiformeand the culturing seedling at the North Sea of S. fusiforme during summer. The result indicate thatSeedlings can become the cultivation of seedlings of S. fusiforme in North Sea during summer. When the seedlings reach to the standard of cultivate until late October, they will be get back tothe sea area of Zhejiang. The study shows good industry foreground and forms technological baseof "Cultivation in northern, farming in southern", and it becomes the key technology to solve thelarge-scale development of S. fusiforme industry in China.
