This article provides an overview of southern culture of sea cucumber (Apostichopusjaponicus) farming development and its physiological research and research progress ofintestinal flora. The experiment explored the differences of digestive enzymes, immune,respiratory metabolism, and intestinal flora in different specifications of the southern culture ofsea cucumber (A.japonicus). The results are as follows:1、We have reseached the variability of intestinal flora of the different specifications of thesouthern culture of A.japonicus. This test for different sizes of the same breeding ponds ofA.japonicus conducted a study of intestinal flora, and takes three times at different times, eachtest sample size into large, medium and small in three specifications.We reseached and comparedthe dominant bacteria, pathogenic bacteria and probiotic bacteria in the intestinal flora. Resultsindicate that the growth condition of A.japonicus is assotionated with the type and quantity of theintestinal flora, especially with intestinal flora bacteria which are Pseudomonas, Vibrio andBacillus. The number of Vibrio is1.8~4.1×10~6cfu/g, the number of Pseudomonas is2.17~7.0×10~5cfu/g, the number of Bacillus is0.41~0.58×10~5cfu/g. The more propotion, thebetter groth.2、 We have reseached the variability of digestive enzyme activity of the differentspecifications of the southern culture of A.japonicus. This test for different sizes of the samebreeding ponds of A.japonicus conducted a study of intestinal flora, and takes three times atdifferent times, each test sample size into large, medium and small in three specifications.Wecompared tha activity of protease, amylase, cellulase and alginase. The activity of protease is29.1~94.38U/g, the activity of amylase is7.4~41.44U/g, cellilase is53.24~64.44U/g, alginase is12.9~36.63U/g. Results show that the protease and amylase activity of the differentspecifications of the southern culture of apostichopus japonicus are different signifitly. Thegreater size, the higher activity. The enzyme activities of both are closely connected with thegrowth conditions of A.japonicus. We can improve the digestion and absorption capacity ofcarbohydrates, fats and proteins to promote growth and development.3、We have reseached the variability of immune activity of the different specifications ofthe southern culture of A.japonicus. This test for different sizes of the same breeding ponds of A.japonicus conducted a study of intestinal flora, and takes three times at different times, eachtest sample size into large, medium and small in three specifications. We detected the immuneindexes of body cavity fluid and the immune activity. The number is1.48~3.02×10~6per milliliter,COP is0.27~0.358U per200μL, ACP is3.13~3.97U per100μL, Lysozymase is99.22~118.14Uper mL, Phagocytic killing activity is0.262~0.408U per100μL, Soluble cell activity is0.42~1.027U per100μL. The result indicted that there is no siginificant difference between thesizes and the immunological activities. The reason that the number of cells in the body cavityand dissolve cells vary considerably in the different sizes of A.japonicus are differentsignificantly maybe is that the activity is better of small A.japonicus in order to survive.4、 We have reseached the variability of respiratory metabolism of the differentspecifications of the southern culture of A.japonicus. This test for different sizes of the samebreeding ponds of A.japonicus conducted a study of intestinal flora, and takes three times atdifferent times, each test sample size into large, medium and small in three specifications. Wecompared the respiration rate and ammonia excretion rate of the different specifications of thesouthern culture of A.japonicus. The oxygen consumption rate is0.0265~0.0413mg/g*h, theammonia excretion rate is1.468~3.063μg/g*h. The results indicted that the respiration rate andammonia excretion rate of different sizes of apostichopus japonicus have significant difference.And it shows the energy consumption of small size is bigger than the other sizes, consumption ofnutrients, such as carbohydrates, fats and proteins, is higher than others, so the individual issmall.
