The Relationship Between Wheat Stem Strength And Lodging Resistance

The main purpose of this study is to investigate the fundamental reason of wheat lodging, analyzing lodging resistance differences of more than200varieties of wheat resources in the milky stage and in the early grain filling stage, filtering out some varieties with better lodging resistance in the growth period, laying the foundation for the later excavations lodging genes.In this paper, the portable digital stem lodging instrument was used to measure wheat stem strength. The study is divided into three. Experiment1explored the lodging correlation evaluation method of stem strength and lodging index. In experiment2,19varieties of wheat stem strength was measured at different locations sowing and planting periods, exploring the reason of lodging. Experiment3was to analyze the different lodging resistance of more than200varieties of wheat.1、The determination of wheat stem strength is fast, convenient and no damage to the plants; The determination of lodging index is cumbersome and has greater damage on the plant. The evaluation of two methods about lodging resistance of wheat is moderately related, wheat stem strength and lodging index was negatively correlated at early filling stage.2、Under the same management level, sowing and planting location on stem strength was not significant. But different varieties of wheat have significantly different stem strength, the root cause lodging of wheat should be the gene from wheat itself.3、The average of stem strength of more than200varieties of wheat was1.214N in early filling stage, the average was1.454N in the milky stage, lodging resistance was slightly stronger than the early filling stage. Lodging resistance of different varieties of wheat is significant different, and the lodging resistance of the same species are not the same in the early grain filling stage and in the milky stage. The lodging resistance of some varieties in the early filling is good, but poor in the milky stage, such as LC-15、ANNONG1106. The lodging resistance of some varieties in the early filling is poor, but good in the milky stage, such as R146、XINMAI18. Squared deviation method was used to analysis250varieties of wheat stem strength in the early grain filling stage and in the milky stage, the results were clustered into four categories. According to the clustering results, I select some varieties with better lodging resistance in two periods, such as CP02-8-5-6-1CP02-8-5-6-2F1、ZHONGYU1023、ZHONGYU1026、ZHONGYU109、NEIMAI8、 NEIMAI9、NEIMAI10、NEIMAI11、JUNMAI3、HUARUI0712、ANNONG0942-13, to making foundation for future digging lodging gene.
