| The use of antibiotics played an important improvement of post-weaning diarrheain the production of pigs. However the course of antibiotic residues and increasedbacterial resistance had been impeded its continued use of a bottleneck. Coral gingershowed the antibacterial effect, so we designed this experiment to investigate the effectof coral ginger extract instead of antibiotics on performance and diarrhea index. SixtyLandrace×Rongchang crossbred weaned piglets about16kg were selected, randomlydivided into five groups, each group of four repeats, each repeat include three weanedpiglets. Ginger extract were added to the basal diet (0,100,200,500,1000ppm).Theexperiment test28days in order to examine the impact of the of coral ginger extract onthe weaned piglet production performance and health status. The results show thatginger extract in low concentration of100mg/kg and200mg/kg had little effect on theimprovement of diarrhea index, while had the ability to reduce feed intake, had no effecton the performance. It could no effect on average daily gain, and significantly improvethe efficiency (P<0.05). However, in higher concentration of500mg/kg, theimprovement of diarrhea index increased. Therefore in view of the ability to reducediarrhea, the concentration of ginger extract in the diet should be about500mg/kg. |
