This study investigated the combining ability between four sterile lines and seven restorable lines. Used NCII design and GGE biplot methods to analyze the combining ability of parents and heritability of9main agronomic traits. This study also analyzed combining ability of glucosinolate components and their correlation of GGA. Main contents and results are as follows:1. The male parent D3AB and female parent56R and91R had higher general combining ability (GCA) in single plant yield, while the combinations with high SCA included3A×7R, G8A×16R, GdlA×D21R and G8A×56R.2. For the heritability, the traits of plant height, the length of main inflorescences, pods number of main inflorescences and1000-seed weight were proved to have higher broad-sense heritability, which showed that these traits were mainly affected by genotypic effect. While the primary branches had lower broad-sense heritability suggested it would be affected by environment more easily. Some traits, like1000-seed weight and plant height, had higher narrow heritability suggested that we can obtain expected progeny easily by selection of the parents, and it would be better to select in the early generation; while other traits, like the primary branches number which had lower narrow heritability would be better to select in the later generation.3. The sterile lines G588AB and the restorer91R were the best parents in terms of both discriminating ability and representativeness.4. In terms of the sterile lines, the GCA of the pods number of whole plant, seeds number per pod and plant height were positively correlated with the GCA of single plant yield, while the GCA of pods number of main inflorescences,1000-seed weight, branch height and primary branches were negatively correlated with the GCA of single plant yield. In terms of the restorer lines, the GCA of pods number of whole plant, length of main inflorescences and plant height were positively correlated with the GCA of single plant yield, whereas the seeds number per pod was negatively correlated with the GCA of single plant yield. In terms of the hybrids, plant height, pods number of whole plant, length of main inflorescences, seeds number per pod and pods number of main inflorescences were positively correlated with single plant yield. While1000-seed weight was negatively correlated with single plant yield. These results suggested that although high quality male sterile lines and the restorer lines have different characteristics, some traits, like the pods number of whole plant, plant height, were desirable for the both. Therefore, we should pay attention to the complementary of superior traits between parents in combination to generate superior hybrids.5. The analysis of Glucosinolate components of B.napus L. showed that:(1) In terms of the desulfoprogoitrin, the restorer lines D21R and D1R had low general combining ability (GCA), and91R and56R had low specific combining ability (SCA), The sterile lines D3AB had low GCA and low SCA, the combinations with low SCA included D3AxDlR, D3AXD21R and GdlAXDIR and so on.(2) In terms of the desulfogluconapin, the restorer lines15R and91R had low GCA, while D1R and D21R had low SCA, The sterile lines GdlAB and D3AB had low GCA, while D3AB had low SCA, the combinations with low SCA included D3A×D1R, D3A×D21R and Gd1A×DIR and so on.(3) In terms of the male parent, the GCA of desulfogluconapin, desulfo-4-hydroxyglucobrassicin, desulfogluconasturtin and desulfoglucobrassicanapin was positively correlated with the GCA of desulfoprogoitrin, and the GCA of desulfogluconasturtin and desulfoglucobrassicanapin were negatively correlated with the GCA of desulfo-4-hydroxyglucobrassicin. In terms of the female parent the GCA of Desulfogluconapin and desulfoglucobrassicanapin was positively correlated with the GCA of desulfoprogoitrin, whereas desulfogluconasturtin and desulfo-4-hydroxyglucobrassicin were negatively correlated with the GCA of desulfoprogoitrin.(4) According to glucosinolate components in the hybrid phenotype relationship, The correlation of GCA for glucosinolate components of hybrids were consistent with the results on bioblt for female parent, the results of biplot indicated that D3A×D21R and D3A×D1R were better than other combinations for effectively reducing glucosinolates content of rapeseed of hybrid progeny.
