In recent years, as the country unceasingly deepening along with the integration and planning of the dairy industry, at the same time, in order to meet the needs of market development and enhance their competitiveness, major dairy companies take the lead in building its own scale dairy farms. But the traditional production mode of the breeding industry greatly restricts the development of modern ranch.It not only wastes a lot of human resources,the production efficiency is low and seriously lacks competitiveness of the industry. With the increasingly progress of science and technology, especially the development of the embedded technology in our country, makes it is possible that introducing modern high-tech products into the traditional breeding industry to improve production efficiency. This thesis designs a set of pedometer system based on wireless transmission and the acceleration sensor. It can provide accurate information of dairy cow estrus, reduce human labor and improve the economic benefits of dairy farming greatly.This paper begins with research background and significance, illustrates the pedometer research value and significance of the system.On the basis of describing the overall system function and its framework, this thesis elaborates the functions of the parts, principle design and application implementation. The design of the system includes hardware design and software design. In this paper, hardware design is the core of the work. The main content of the thesis includes the pedometer system overall design; hardware device (wireless transmission module nRF24LEl, acceleration sensor MC3230, temperature sensor TMP102and control chip dsPIC30F4013) selection and its working principle description; hardware modularly design process and principle; Programming and debugging of the system; the pedometer power test and performance optimization. Software design part mainly introduces the software realization.principle of system function and design method. It illuminates the science process of getting estrus information form cow activity data.
