Purpose: To investigate the expression of FGF19and FGFR4inesophageal squamous carcinoma and normal esophageal tissues and to analyze theirroles and relationship between their expression and clinical pathological parameters. Methods:We selected34esophageal squamous carcinoma specimens andcorresponding nomal esophageal tissues from2009to2012.All of the patients haveundergoned radical surgery, without radiotherapy, chemotherapy, immounotherapy andembolization befor the surgery. All the specimens were made a definite diagnosis bythe seniordoctor of department of pathology.we used immunohistochemical methodto detect the FGF19and FGFR4protein expression in34esophageal squamouscarcinoma postoperative pathologic specimens. Then we analyzed the relationshipbetween their expression and clinical pathological parameters, and the relationshipbetween FGF19and FGFR4expression.Experimental data is analysised by SPSS11.1software.Statistically significant level was set at P<0.05。Results: FGF19and FGFR4expression is high in Esophageal squamous carcinoma. There is a positively linear correlation between their expression and lymph nodemetastasis or pathological stage in Esophageal squamous carcinoma. Also theexpression of FGFR4and FGF19was a positive linear correlation in the desease. Conclusion: There is an important relationship between the two proteins and theformation of esophageal squamous carcinoma, and they paticipate in its process ofinvasion and metastasis.
