A Study On Quality Of Life And Influence Factors In Cleft Parents

Objective To investigate the quality of life and their influence factors in cleft parentsand to provide evidences for improving the quality of the parents.Methods143parents whose children were proceeded the primary surgery treatmentwere selected as the study group, and other normal adults as the control group.Both groupswere investigated by3questionnaires that included Questionnaire of General Status, GenericQuality of Life Inventory-74(GQOL I-74), Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS).Results1)The scores of the quality of life, mental function, social function, materiallife in the case group were significantly low compared with the control group(P＜0.05).2)The social support total scores,subjective support and the utilization of support were lowerthan the control group (P <0.05).3)Social support, objective support, subjective supportpositively correlated with quality of life total scores in the case group.4)Using the stepwisemultiple regression analysis, we found that the relevant factors affecting quality of life weresocial support and income.Conclusion The parents of cleft patients quality of life and social support is poor, weshould give more support and help to improve their quality of life.
