ObjectivesTo understand the prevalence of community diabetes and direct disease economic burden caused by diabetes and its complications; to analysis of complications related to socio-economic factors and the main factors affecting the direct economic burden of disease caused by diabetes; to propound some recommendations of the way of mitigating the direct economic burden of residential diabetes and improve their quality of life, to provide a reference for community public health management decisions.MethodsApplication epidemiological cross-sectional study, survey140diabetic patients of Xi Shan District, Kunming Liang Yuan community household by the way of questionnaire designed by literature research and expert advice. Using EpiData3.1to establish a database for dual entry, SPSS17.0statistical package for analysis, including univariate analysis such as χ2-test, rank-sum test, multivariate analysis with stepwise multiple regression, logistic regression analysis and other statistical analysis.Results1. The survey of people with diabetes a total of140people, the youngest30years old, the oldest83years old, the average age in63.96±9.03years old, Men67(47.9%) and women73(52.1%),secondary or higher education mostly in the number of94, accounting for67.1%.2. The investigation diabetes patients with an average duration of disease was8.41±5.66years;98people received the knowledge of diabetes education, total survey70.0%of the number;52.1%of the complications of diabetes,5.0%of respondents cause physical disability. The impact of diabetes complications for the patients:Logistic regression analysis results, occupation, sick time and whether there is high cholesterol and whether there is a positive correlation between complications, medical insurance means the case with complications negatively correlated.3. The survey of people with diabetes in the last year, the per capita direct economic burden of disease10,153.85Yuan, per capita direct medical costs of8522.09Yuan per capita direct non-medical expenses1434.96Yuan. The factors affect diabetes direct economic burden of disease:multiple linear regression analysis results, the treatment level of medical institutions, length of stay and the jobs and income patients with diabetes direct economic burden of disease in the last year showed a positive correlation.4. Respondents99.3%of patients with diet control,97.9%of patients with exercise,18.6%of patients with health care products. Diet control is important for the rehabilitation of diabetes care (P<0.05); whether patients with complications of the treatment of diabetes costs affordability (P<0.05); different per capita monthly income of the patients on the capacity of the treatment of diabetes costs (P<0.05); impact of diabetes patients is mainly due to economic reasons86(61.4%).ConclusionsTreatment of diabetes is a longer and more arduous the process of, to strengthen the health education of community diabetes, to improve the quality of community health service, to increase the income of the residents economy, to strict diabetes in patients with medication are the effective measures of promoting diabetes to cure actively, controlling complications of diabetes disease development, reducing the direct economic burden of diabetes.
