Objective To study the clinical significance of serum SCCAg,CEA,CA199,CA724and CYFRA21-1test in diagnosis, treatment, prediction of prognosis and follow-up inlaryngeal carcinoma and hypopharyngeal Carcinoma and observe combined tumormarkers in detection value of early diagnosis and treatment of laryngeal carcinoma andhypopharyngeal Carcinoma. Methods Serum of87patients with laryngeal carcinoma and56patients withhypopharyngeal carcinoma who were from January2011years to January2013yearswas measured both preoperatively and postoperatively. The concentration of serumSCCAg,CEA,CA199,CA724and CYFRA21-1was measured by electro-Chemiluminescence immunoassay(ECLIA)to analyse differences of target indicatorsbefore and after operation and learn whether the differences compared with the controlgroup are significant or not in Statistics. The Sensitivity and Specificity of meaningfultarget indicators should be calculated separatively and combinedly. All the results wenton analysis of rank sum test, Chi-square test by statistical software SPSS10.Results The different of preoperative serum SCCAg,CEA,CA199,CA724andCYFRA21-1test between laryngeal carcinoma and hypopharyngeal carcinoma wasmeaningful in Statistics(P<0.05) and was higher than postoperative and normal overalllevel.Of the five indicators,CA199and CA724were less stable than other three onesand SCC Ag and CYFRA21-1were more related. The positive rates of serumSCCAg,CEA,CA199,CA724and CYFRA21-1of87preoperative cases with laryngealcarcinoma were36.8%(32/87,18.3%(16/87),8.0%(3/87),12.6%(11/87),46.0%(40/87)in order. Compared with the control group, the difference of these positive rates were meaningful(P<0.05).The positive rates of serum SCCAg,CEA,CA199,CA724andCYFRA21-1of56preoperative cases with hypopharyngeal carcinoma were51.8(29/56),19.6%(11/56),3.6%(2/56),8.9%(5/56),53.6%(30/56)in order. However, the positive rates of CA199and CA724compared with the control group wereinsignificant by Chi-square test. The combined positive rate of SCCAg,CEA,CA199,CA724and CYFRA21-1of87preoperative cases with laryngeal carcinoma was68.9%and for SCCAg combined with CYFRA21-1,it is58.6%. For CEA combined withSCCAg and CYFRA21-1,the positive rate for the patients with hypopharyngealcarcinoma is80.4%and for SCCAg combined with CYFRA21-1,it is76.9%.Conclusions Preoperative measurement of serum SCCAg,CEA,CA199,CA724andCYFRA21-1of patients with laryngeal carcinoma and serum SCCAg,CEA andCYFRA21-1of patients with hypopharyngeal carcinoma are helpful in the diagnosis. What’s more, the combined measurement of SCCAg and CYFRA21-1is more helpfulfor the patients with laryngeal carcinoma or hypopharyngeal Carcinoma in thediagnosis.
