Objective The aim of this study is to investigate the expression and clinic significanceof RAR、RXR and PKC-α in human esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC).Methods The proteins expression of RAR、RXR、PKC-αin ESCC tissuesand their corresponding normal mucosa were detected by tissue microarray,immunohistochemistry and western blot techniques. All statistical analyses wereperformed by SPSS version17.0.Results Positive rate of RAR-α,RAR-β,RAR-γ,RXR-α,RXR-β,RXR-γ,PKC-αin ESCC were35.6%,31.1%,20.0%,58.9%,36.7%,51.1%,62.2%,Positiverate in normal mucosa were42.2%,53.3%,16.7%,46.7%,72.2%,55.6%,44.4%respectively, Expression level of RAR-β,RXR-β decreased significantly inESCC tissues compared with their adjacent normal esophageal mucosa (P<0.05).butExpression level of PKC-αincreased significantly, Furthermore, RAR-β,RXR-βshowed obvious correlation with degree of differentiation of ESCC (P<0.01), RAR-βalso showed obvious inversely correlation with lymph node metastasis(P<0.05). RXR-β showed obvious inversely correlation with TNM stage(P<0.05). PKC-α showed obvious positively correlation with TNM stage(P<0.05).however, There was no statistically significant difference between ESCC andnormal esophageal mucosa in other receptors.Conclusion Decreased expression of RAR-β,RXR-βand increased expression of PKC-α may play an important role in the carcinogenesis and development ofESCC.... |
