The Research Of Mouth Opening Degree After The Temporalis Muscle Flip Skull Base Reconstruction In The Middle Cranial Fossa Skull Base Tumor Surgery

Objective: Vascular pedicled temporalis muscle flip and tamponade is whetherinfluence the width of mouth opening in different time after the middle fossacommunicate tumor surgery.Method:Selected24cases with middle cranial fossacommunicate tumor of Xinjiang Medical neurosurgery admitted in December2010toMarch2013.Divided the24cases into experimental and control groups,depending onwhether vascular pedicled temporalis muscle flip and tamponade method for skull basereconstruction,and measuring width of mouth opening before surgery,1day,3days,5days,7days,9days and3months after.Calculate the average value of width mouthopening at different times change after surgery,and draw a line chart,then analysis thetrend of postoperative width of mouth opening.Analysis of each group of patientsdifferences in width of mouth opening before and after surgery，and analysis of thedifferences in width of mouth opening between the two groups before surgery and at thesame time after surgery.Result:Experimental and control groups in1-5days after surgerysurgery there are varying degrees of reduced width of mouth opening.The experimentalgroup and the control group in the three days after surgery the width of mouth opening isreduced,reduced by45.56%and26.14%,respectively,compared with the preoperative.7days after surgery the later two groups of the width of mouth opening to get a certainrecovery,but did not fully recover to the level before surgery.Existence of differencesbetween the two groups in1-5days after surgery the width of mouth opening reduce.1-5days after surgery the extent of the experimental group patients with reduced width ofmouth opening compared with the control group of large,were reduced by12.70%,26.30%and18.13%, respectively.7days after the experimental group and the controlgroup of patients with width of mouth opening differences disappeared after.Conclusion: Vascular pedicled temporalis muscle flip and tamponade method will be patients withearly(1-5days)width of mouth opening impact,so that patients with reduced width ofmouth opening.But there is no evidence to prove the adverse effects of the patients mouthexistence of long-term(7days later).
