Epidemiological Analysis Of2829Cases Of Head And Neck Cancer In Xinjiang

Objective: To Analysis the epidemiological data of2829cases of head and neckcancer and provide direction and data basis for the prevention and treatment of the headand neck cancer of in Xinjiang. Methods: The data of head and neck cancers diagnosedbetween January2002and December2011were collected from the First AffiliatedHospital in Xinjiang Medical University, and the proportion of which was analyzed.Results:1657cases of male patients, accounted for58.57%,1172cases of femalepatients, accounting for41.43%, male to female ratio of1.4:1, the median age is55, allpatients are mainly distributed in the40-year-old to69-year-old, accounting for63.38%,Han accounted for59.5%, Uygur27.7%, Kazakh6.3%， Hui3.1%, Mongolian1.6percent, other ethnic groups accounted for1.6%.The proportion of top five cancerswere oral cancer, thyroid carcinoma, laryngeal cancer, nasopharyngeal cancer, nasalsinus cancer. The men in the top five cancers were oral cancer, laryngeal cancer,nasopharyngeal cancer, nasal sinus cancer, thyroid carcinoma. The women in the top fivecancers were thyroid carcinoma, oral cancer, nasal sinus cancer, nasopharyngealcarcinoma, facial skin cancer.The Han in the top five cancers were thyroid carcinoma,oral cancer, laryngeal cancer, nasopharyngeal cancer, nasal sinus cancer.The Uygur in thetop five cancers were oral cancer, nasopharyngeal cancer, nasal sinus cancer, thyroidcarcinoma, laryngeal cancer. The Kazakh in the top five cancers were oral cancer, thyroidcancer, nasal sinus cancer, laryngeal cancer, oropharyngeal and hypopharyngeal cancer..Conclusion: oral cancer, thyroid cancer are the prevention focus, laryngeal cancer,nasopharyngeal cancer, nasal sinus cancer prevention are also needed to pay sufficientattention in Xinjiang.
