Objective:To investigate the relationship between the ankle-brachial index (ABI), carotid artery colorDoppler ultrasound(CDFI), transcranial Doppler ultrasound (TCD) and ischemic stroke。Methods:187cases where admitted to Xinjiang Autonomous Region People’s-Hospital from January2010to July2010were divided into ischemic stroke and non-ischemic stroke group by CT/MR examination.all patients were detected intima-media thickness of extracranial carotid arteries by Carotid artery ultrasound, Measured Blood flow velocity, end-diastolic flow velocity, Flow Direction and Doppler flow imaging of Intracranial major vessels by transcranial Doppler ultrasound, and indicated the ankle-brachial index by odds of Systolic blood pressure arm and ankle. Results:the prevalence of diabetes and hypertension in stroke group was significantly higher than non-stroke group (p<0.05); Sensitivity of ischemic stroke diagnosis was imporeved by two or three Detection methods. The ABI and Carotid ultrasound abnormalities of the stroke group was significantly higher than non-stroke group (p<0.05); the area under the Carotid artery ultrasound’s ROC curve of the stroke group is greater than the ABI and TCD’s (0.60,0.56,0.55, P<0.05). The area under the Carotid ultrasound combined ABI’s ROC curve is much larger than the Carotid ultrasound combined TCD’s, TCD combined ABI’s or all three combined (0.62,0.61,0.56,0.61,P<0.05).Conclusion:The ABI、Carotid artery ultrasound and TCD can well predict the occurrence of ischemic stroke, and the ABI combined Carotid artery ultrasound can more effectively predict the occurrence of ischemic stroke.
