Objective: To survey the reproductive tract infections’(RITs) status of married womenand its influencing factors in rural area of Midwest provinces of China, so as to provide abasis for the relevant interventions.Methods: A multi-stage stratified random sampling method was used for the survey,2,073married women in84villages from Shanxi, Xinjiang, Gansu, Qinghai were selected.A questionnaire about health status and behavior was used for the investigate to know thewomen’s prevalence of RITs and knowledge level of RITs. The Epidata3.2software wasused to input the data, SPSS19.0and R language was used for statistical analysis. Cochran-Mantel-Haensel(CMH) chi square test and multivariate non-conditioned logistic regressionanalysis were used to assess the relationship of correlative factors.Results:2073married women in the survey:(1) The status of RITs in married women: The RITs’average prevalence was22.5%. InXinjiang region wosmen’s RITs’ prevalence is up to33.8%, the prevalence of the Hanpopulation was higher than the minorities. If women got the RITs,46.2%of them askedhelp to the doctors,54.1%of them selected the township hospitals and20.8%of them wentto the hospitals which are above the county level.97.9%of the respondents had history ofpregnancy,19.9%of them had history of abortion. Their contraception measures in orderare IUD55.5%, condoms32.2%. Bu people insist on using condoms only6.0%.(2) The knowledge level of the RITs in married women:49.5%of respondents areaware of the hazards of RITs,58.4%of them known how to get RITs60.9%of them knownthe RITs prevention approach.72.3%of women know IUD as a contraceptive measure.56.1%of women think that their husband s health status is connected to the wifereproductive health. The way how they acquire the knowledge in order: TV80.2%, doctors 40.1%, participation in health education activities27.9%, bulletin boards26.0%. Healtheducation also played a certain role at the local.(3) The factors of RITs analysis: The influential factors of RITs are living in thewestern region, taking less bath, poor economic conditions, working outside, washinggenital with soap or vulva cleaning fluid, having history of abortion, low knowledge level.Women in those conditions are susceptible to RITs.Conclusion: The status of women s reproductive health in Midwest provinces ofChina was poor. They still have some bad habits which are harmful to their health. Theirawareness of the RITs is still weak. We need to take targeted health education andbehavioral interventions to improve their health status.
