Objective: To assess the association between cardiac function and structure andnonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in patients with Type2diabetesmellitus(T2MD)methods:219patients with T2MD were collected from TongJi hospital to make aretrospective analysis. Patients were devided into two groups based on NAFLD(diagnosed by B ultrasonic echograph): T2DM with NAFLD (36female,65male) andT2DM(53female,65male). After their clinical data was recorded, statistical analysiswere done by SPSS20software.result: Age、 sex、 diabetes duration were not significantly different in the twogroups. When compared with the T2DM group, weight, HOMA-IR, HOMA-β, FINS,1hINS,2hINS,3hINS, FCP,1hCP,2hCP,3hCP, TG, ALT, UA were higher and HDL werelower inT2DM with NAFLD group(P<0.05), FPG,1hPG,2hPG,3hPG, TC, AST leveldidn’t reach statistic significant. In addition,NAFLD patients have greater LVM, greaterLAD, greater LVPW and lower E/A, lower E(P<0.05). Using logistic regressionanalysis, It was found that after multivarible adjustment, NAFLD was significantlycorrelated with cardiac hypertrophy(OR1.75,95%CI1.05,2.76), but not for diastolicdysfunction. Conclusion: T2DM patients with NAFLD proved to be in a state of metabolicdisturbance and had highter prevalence of cardiac hypertrophy and diastolic dysfunction. In T2DM patients, NAFLD was associated with cardiac hypertrophy independently ofnumerous baseline confounding factors.
