Objective: To investigate the curative effect and postoperativecomplications of the third ventricle craniopharyngioma removed by transcallosal-stptum pellucidum-interforniceal approach.Methods:The clinical data of28patients with the third ventrilecraniopharyngioma undergoing trans Callosal-septum Pellucidum-interforniceal Approach resection were analyzed retrospectively.Results:Total tumor removal was achieved in18cases, subtotalremoval in6and partial removal in4. Electrolyte disorder and diabetesinsipidus were observed in most of the cases. Other frequentcomplications included Endocrine disorders, mutism, hyperpyrexia andseizures.Conclusion:The Trans Callosal-septum Pellucidum-interfornicealApproach is the best choice for the the resection of third ventriclecraniopharyngioma. The postoperative complications is common andserious, Sufficient preoperative preparation and good perioperativemanagement is the premise of the successful operation. |
