Objective To discuss the reliability of lateral release and medialplication combine with medial patellofemoralligament (MPFL)reconstruction procedure to treat children congenitalpatellar dislocation.Method From1998.04.08to2012.06.25, twenty-four keensunderwent the procedure. A medial incision was made to release lateral andtighten medial soft tissue. We reconstruct MPFL by semitendinosus tendon.We compared the Lysholm score before preoperative with postoperative toevaluate if our procedure have a good effect. A x-ray examination shouldbe executed after four weeks of the operation to evaluate the patellofemoraljoint. According to the clinical recovery we divide them into goodsatisfactory and unsatisfactory3grades.Result A mean follow-up time was24months(4to48months),oneof all the24knees in16patients recurred, the others can do the dailyactivities.Conclusion Galeazzi procedure is a safe and effective way to treatchildren’s congenital patellar dislocation.
