Objective The purpose of this study was to investigate the present situation and existing problems of Student Evaluation of Teaching through a questionnaire in medical students. Taking Changzhi Medical College as a example, to analyze the influencing factors and provide reference for it, and to explore more scientific and comprehensive strategy.Methods500undergraduate in Changzhi Medical College were interviewed by the cluster sampling. The questionnaire included the understanding to Student Evaluation of Teaching, its pattern and result of it. The same time,30teachers and managers were interviewed, the interview outline including view of student evaluation of teaching, its effect and the use of it. Data was analyzed by SPSS version13.0. Statistic descriptions, Chi-square test and variance analysis were mainly used in this research.Results1. Students generally approved of student evaluation of teaching.67.5%of the student took it seriously, and surely their subject position in the process.30.4%of the student thought it no effect. There were significant differences between clinical professional and non clinical professional(P<0.05). The view of managers was similar as student, and teachers’ awareness was relatively insufficient.2. Students, teachers and managers were generally in favor of developing online student evaluation of teaching and their attitudes were serious, In addition to14.4%of students. Besides online student evaluation of teaching, there were paper questionnaires and informal discussion with leaders and teachers. There were significant differences on the establishment of online interactive platform for teachers and students between clinical professional and non clinical professional(P <0.05).3. Through the investigation,81.3%of students though that the results of evaluation was influenced by a single factor. The factors included the implementation of student evaluation of teaching, the feedback of results and the use of them. There were significant differences on the score reflecting the teaching level of high and low between boys and gilrs(P<0.05).4. The factors of student evaluation of teaching included the date, index, grade, teaching attitude, teaching effect and teacher’s knowledge, etc. There were significant differences on the concerns about student evaluation of teaching between clinical professional and non clinical professional(P<0.05).Conclusions1. Student evaluation of teaching was necessary in college.2. Online evaluation was generally applicable to student evaluation of teaching.3. The results of student evaluation of teaching was not the only standard.4. Student evaluation of teaching was affected by many factors.
