Objective:To investigate the effect differences with different intensities ofelectro-acupuncture (EA) on UPR Signal Pathway and the expression ofsocs-3and PPAR γ in adipose tissue from high fat diet-induced obese rats. Methods:Sixty SD rats were divided into two groups randomly. One group wascommon diet group (including ten rats) and the other was high fat diet group(including fifty rats). Then choosing thirty obese rats divided into modelgroup,5mA EA group and1mA EA group. EA (frequency:20Hz, intensities:5mA and1mA), was applied to ST36、 SP6for15min everyday and fortwo weeks. The expression of p-PERK and CHOP/GADD153by Westernblot, the contents of p-IRE1and Caspase-12by ELISA. The expression ofsocs-3and PPAR γ gene mRNA by reverse transcriptase polymerase chainreaction (RT-PCR). Results:After EA, body weight, and expression of socs-3and PPAR γ genemRNA from obese rats were significantly decreased (P<0.01, P<0.05).5mAEA group exhibited a better improvement on the gene expression with the1mA EA group. Conclusion:EA has a beneficial regulating effect on rats with simple obesity, andmoreover,5mA EA group is superior to1mA EA group.
