A Meta-analysis Of The Relationship Between Statins And The Risk Of Hepatocellular Cancer

Obejective To examine the relationship between statins and the riskof hepatocellular cancer.Method All data on the relationship between statins and the risk ofhepatocellular cancer were collected from literatures by PUBMEDsearching. The odds ratio(OR) of the exposure distributions in HCCcases-control groups was calculated. Meta-analysis software was ReviewManager5.1. It was applied to calculate OR and95%confidential interval.Result6studies were selected for the meta-analysis, reporting3778cases of HCC in482452patients. Summary OR estimates with95%confidential interval were calculated using the random effects model. TheOR and95%CI was0.60(0.48-0.76),which showed statistically significantdifference(P<0.0001).Conclusion The meta-analysis shows statins use is associated with areduced risk of HCC.
