| Objective: To investigate the correlation of MXR7and MMP-2expression tothe clincopathologic parameters of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), such as vascularinvasion, clinic stages and differentiation degree etc, by detecting respectively theexpression of MXR7and MMP-2in the HCC tissues, and evaluate the association ofMXR7expression with MMP-2expression to explore the role of MXR7and MMP-2in the cancerogenesis and development of HCC.Methods: Formalin-fixed and paraffine-embedded specimen of6o cases of HCCand para-carcinoma (2cm to cancer tissue) tissues between2008to2011werecollected from the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University. The expressionof MXR7and MMP-2in those tissues was detected with Envision immunohistochemi-stry. The positive expression rate of the protein was calculated and imputed intoSPSS13.0. Chi-square test was used to analyze the difference of two different samplerate, and the association of MXR7expression with MMP-2expression was assessedby Pearson Correlation test.Results:1. The positive expression rate of MXR7and MMP-2in tissues of HCCwas71.7%(43/60)and68.3%(41/60), which was notably higher than that of MXR7and MMP-2in the control group of para-carcinoma tissues, respectively (10.0%,23.3%).(P<0.05).The positive expression rate of MXR7in the HCC tissues with vascular invasionand in those tissues without vascular invasion was respectively90.9%(20/22)and60.5%(23/38). The MXR7positive expression rate in the HCC tissues with vascularinvasion was clearly higher than its expression rate in the HCC tissues withoutvascular invasion (P=0.012). The MXR7positive expression rate in the HCC tissuesstaged TNM â…¢/â…£ and the HCC tissues staged TNM â… /â…¡ was85.7%(24/28)and59.4%(19/32), and difference of its expression rate between these two groupswas significant (P=0.024); In addition, the difference of positive rate of MXR7expression between the groups of different tumor size, differentiation degree, nodulesnumber, patients age, patient sexuality and AFP level was not significant, respectively (P>0.05).The positive expression rate of MMP-2in the HCC tissues with vascularinvasion and in those tissues without vascular invasion was respectively86.4%(19/22)and57.9%(22/38). The MMP-2positive expression rate in the HCC tissueswith vascular invasion was clearly higher than its expression rate in the HCC tissueswithout vascular invasion (P=0.022). The MMP-2positive expression rate in theHCC tissues staged TNM â…¢/â…£ and the HCC tissues staged TNM â… /â…¡ was82.1%(23/28)and56.3%(18/32), and difference of its expression rate between thesetwo groups was significant (P=0.031). In addition, the difference of positive rate ofMMP-2expression between the groups of different tumor size, differentiation degree, nodules number, patients age, patient sexuality and AFP level was not significant, respectively (P>0.05).Pearson Correlation test showed that the expression of MXR7was significantlyrelated to that of MMP-2in HCC tissues(C=0.288,P=0.026).Conclusions:1. The expression of MXR7and MMP-2in HCC tissues wasgenerally high, which indicates that MXR7and MMP-2involves the carcinogenesisand development of hepatocellular carcinoma;2. The expression of MXR7andMMP-2was associated with the vascular invasion and TNM stage of HCC. Theexpression of MXR7and MMP-2was not related to the patient age, sexuality, AFPlevel, cancer cell differentiation degree, nodules number and tumor size of HCC;3.The expression of MXR7was significantly related to the expression of MMP-2inHCC, which helps to judge the early metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma andpatient prognosis, and to instruct the effective clinic therapy for it. |
