Objective:1.To analyze characteristics of soft skills for the nursing undergraduates, so as to provide basis for cultivating.2.To further explore the correlation among soft skills characteristics. Choose the top three characteristics from the previous research results, which are team work ability, interpersonal communication ability and critical thinking ability, to explore the effect of general information of nursing undergraduates on the team work ability, then to analyze the correlation among them.Methods:1.Technological literature analysis, questionnaire study and behavior event interview were used to analyze the characteristics of soft skills of undergraduates majoring in nursing.2.191nursing undergraduates were recruited in one medical college in grade2010. Team cohesion questionnaire, clinical communication skills assessment scale, CTDI-CV and general self-designed questionnaire were used to measure the team work ability, communication ability and critical thinking ability of nursing undergraduates. The software of SPSS13.0was used for data analysis, and the statistical analysis methods included descriptive analysis, t test, analysis of variance, Pearson correlation analysis and regression analysis.Results:1. Characteristics of soft skills of nursing undergraduates included15components such as team work, interpersonal communication, critical thinking, self-confidence, cautiousness, strain capacity, outsight, acclimatization, legal consciousness, professional ethics, copping with pressure, self-mangement, self-regulated learning and lifelong learning, innovative consciousness and professional role consciousness. 2.The total points of team work ability was23.15±5.533. The scores of the four dimensions’ of team work ability:warmth, self-discipline, ownership, the value were6.68±1.635,5.40±2.115,5.07±2.500,6.00±1.928. The ability of ownership was the best, and the ability of warmth was the worst.3.The impact of general information on the work team ability:the girls’was better than the boys’; The only children’ was better than the non-only children’(P<0.05).4.The score of interpersonal communication of nursing undergraduates was82.72±9.52. The ability of building harmonious relationship was the best, and the ability of transmitting effective information was the worst. The interpersonal communication of nursing undergraduates had positive correlation with their team work ability(r=0.272,P<0.01).5.The score of critical thinking ability of nursing undergraduates was266.39±35.168,211<the score<279, which means whose critical thinking’ level is medium. The score of thirst for knowledge was the highest, and the score of searching for the truth was the lowest. The critical thinking of nursing undergraduates had non correlation with their team work ability.6.The regression results showed that the gender, whether or not only child, nursing major whether was the first volunteer during college entrance examination, interpersonal communication, which explained74.2%of the variation.Conclusion:1.The characteristics of soft skills of nursing undergraduates includes15components such as team work, interpersonal communication, critical thinking and so on.2.The gender, whether or not only child, nursing major whether is the first volunteer during college entrance examination, and interpersonal communication might be the important predictors of the work team ability of nursing undergraduates.
