Objective:To understand the epidemic status of maternal near miss, and to explore determinants of maternal near miss, in hope to provide scientific evidence for reducing maternal mortality. Methods:A random simple for maternal occurred during January1,2011to June30,2012in the five hospitals of Changsha city was extracted by the stratified-cluster sampling method. Univariate analysis and Binary logistic regression analysis were used targeting at the determinants of maternal near miss. EpiData3.0was used for data entry, EXCEL and SPSS18.0was applied for data screening, arrangement and analysis.Results1.47cases among15252maternity occurred with the incidence of0.31%, CI=(0.22%,0.41%)。2. Determinants affecting maternal near miss were in the order: hypertension(36.2%), hemorrhage(29.8%) and anemia(21.3%),infection (14.9%).3. Univariate analysis suggested that determinants of maternal near miss were age, educational level, parity, number of prenatal care, ways of pregnancy and history of cesarean section. Binary logistic regression analysis analysis found that independent determinant factors of maternal near miss were number of prenatal care and educational level. The lower educational level was, the higher risk was. High school/secondary (OR=2.810; CI=(1.075,7.346)], junior high school (OR=4.096; CI=(1.823,9.202) compared with college degree and above,.Risk of Prenatal care with0time(OR=2.412; CI=(1.307,4.451)] was higher than that of Prenatal care with5times by2.41times. Conclusion:Educational level and number of prenatal care were determinants, The number of prenatal care were protective factors, the lower educational level, the higher the risk of maternal near miss...
