| [Objectives]1) Investigate the levels of MMP-9in secretions of the genital tract influenced by menstrual cycle.2) Measure MMP-9levels of secretions of the genital tract and serum in chronic cervicitis and CIN.3). Explore the clinical significance of MMP-9in secretions of the genital tract and serum on chronic cervicitis and CIN.[Methods] A total of88subjects from Gynaecology and Obstetrics Department of the Third Xiangya Hospitial affiliated to Central South University and Health Management Center of the First People’s Hospital of Xiangtan were enrolled in this study from June to October2012and were divided into1)40healthy women,18cases of cervicitis, and30cases of CIN (1-3),2) the CIN group including11cases of CIN1,9cases CIN2and10cases CIN3,3) a total of40healthy women including13cases of proliferative phase,15secretory phase and12menopausal phase. Collect secretions of the genital tract and serum. The secretions were treated with Weck-Cel method and an Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to measure MMP-9levels in secretions of the genital tract and serum.[Results]1) The MMP-9levels of secretions of the genital tract in proliferative phase, secretory phase and menopausal phase were3456.53±2331.70,5190.13±2090.54and4799.47±1303.02(ng/ml). There were no differences among the three groups (P=0.227).2) The MMP-9levels of secretions in healthy women, cervicitis and CIN were4560.60±2059.14,5467.87±2331.76and8156.13±5550.43(ng/ml). The significant differences were found in the comparison of the normal versus cervicitis versus CIN (P=0.008), between the normal and CIN groups (P=0.002), between the cervicitis and CIN groups (P=0.034), but not between the normal and cervicitis groups (P=0.453). The MMP=9levels of secretions in CIN1, CIN2and CIN3were6657.68±4241.31,5902.29±3878.95and11694.36±6688.95(ng/ml). There were no differences among the three groups (P=0.104).3) In serum the levels of MMP-9in healthy women, cervicitis and CIN were106.02±73.68, 105.71±26.39and128.36±64.06(ng/ml), respectively. There were no differences among the three groups (P=0.111). In CIN1, CIN2and CIN3the MMP-9levels were107.47±31.14,120.37±26.38and147.60±93.95(ng/ml), respectively. No significant differences were found among them (P=0.480).[Conclusions]1) The contents of MMP-9in secretions of the genital tract are not affected by menstrual cycle.2) The concentration of MMP-9of secretions in healthy women, cervicitis and CIN were higher than serum. That provided a simple and safe method for taking specimens to detect MMP-9.3) The levels of MMP-9of secretions in CIN were higher than healthy women and cervicitis. It provided a new indicator to diagnose CIN. In secretions there were no differences between healthy women and cervicitis. No significant differences were found among CIN1, CIN2and CIN3in secretions.4) In serum there were no differences in the comparison of healthy women, cervicitis and CIN. No significant differences were found among CIN1, CIN2and CIN3. |
