Object:TO observe the rabbits general situation and get CSF for test, tried to find if there were damages of glucose transporter protein1in choroid plexus in rabbit Escherichia coli meningitis, explored the possible relationship of bacterial meningitis and the CSF glucose/blood glucose ratio.Methods:1. Verified GLUT1expressed in the choroid plexus tissue of rabbits2. Prepared rabbits Escherichia coli meningitis model3. We observed the general situation in rabbits, collected and detected the cerebrospinal fluid got by cisterna magna puncture and analyzed the correlation among individual indicators.3. Real-time PCR and West-blot were used to detect the mRNA and protein of GLUT1in choroid plexus.Results:1. We Verified GLUT1expressed in the choroid plexus tissue of rabbits2. We successfully conducted the rabbits Escherichia coli meningitis3. Compared with animals before injected Escherichia coli and the control group:the body temperature of the model group rose, simultaneously, mental state, eating and activity also changed. Apparently changes were also observed:the appearance of cerebrospinal fluid was turbid, number of white blood cells, total proteins and lactate were increased. Otherwise, the CSF glucose and CSF glucose/blood glucose ratio were decreased (P<0.01). These differences were all significantly. There was a significantly correlation among the number of white blood cells、total proteins with lactate, CSF glucose and the ratio of CSF glucose/blood glucose.4. Compared with the controls group, the mRNA and protein of GLUT1in choroid plexus of the model group were significantly decreased (P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Greatly aroused were observed in protein、lactate in CSF, apparently decrease in CSF glucose and ratio of CSF glucose/blood glucose were found, the ratio were all blew0.5. the correlation also were found among individual indicators. There were significantly correlation between white blood cells, total proteins and these indicators mentioned previously.2This study firstly found the damage of glucose transporter protein1in choroid plexus in bacterial meningitis, proposed it maybe related to the decreased ratio of CSF glucose/blood glucose in bacterial meningitis.
