| Objective: Disscuss a method about measure the distance between the midpoint ofacetabular notch line connecting and the centre point of acetabular by acetabularcenter locator ACL. It can provide the anatomy basis for the man-made total hiparthroplasty (THA) to make sure the acetabular prosthesis is on the right place.Method steps:1.Select specimens of pelvis (40hips) from20normal adults, peel thesoft tissue of pelvis, then get the labrum acetabular, acetabular notch and Harrisfossa.2.According to the intersection point of vertical diameter and horizontaldiameter of acetabular bone to acquire the center point of acetabulum. And take notesabout the distance between vertical diameter and horizontal diameter. Then use theacetabular center locator ACL to measure the distance between the midpoint of lineconnected with acetabular notehes to the acetabular center MAC.3.Analyse all thedata with statistic analysis software help. Demonstrate the relationship between them.Outcome: Draw a scatter diagram according to the data of MAC with each of verticalline, horizontal line and the sum of vertical line and horizontal line. Directions: Therewas positive correlation between MAC and vertical diameter, horizontal diameter andthe sum of vertical diameter and horizontal diameter. Use the SPSS19.0software tocalculate pearson coefficient while R=0.89,0.81,0.91.According to the pearsonlinear analysis, compare with MAC and vertical diameter; MAC and horizontaldiameter, we can see the variables coefficient between MAC and the sum of verticaldiameter and horizontal diameter are more close to1. There were more significantlinear positive correlation between MAC and the sum of vertical diameter andhorizontal diameter.Conclusion: The Pearson linear analysis suggest an obvious linear positivecorrelation between MAC and the sum of acetabular horizontal line and the verticalline, which means the value of the MAC can be obtained by measuring the distancebetween acetabular horizontal diameter and vertical diameter. Thus the acetabularcenter locator can be used in THA and revision to get positioning center of acetabular rapidly and accurately. This is a practical method for acetabular componentorientation. |
