It is more and more convenient for us to take advantage of the Internet in ourdaily lives. Internet brings entertainment to our lives, some problems follows as well.For instance, a number of adolescents show a growing tendency of Internet addiction.Behavior is considered as a manifestation of individual psychology. Internet addictionis thought as a pathological behavior, its causes may be correlated with thepsychological factors. Psychological well-being level may have certain correlationwith it.Objective: this study started with doing research about subjective well-being,self-esteem, self-control, and Internet addiction of adolescent students, in order tounderstand the level of subjective well-being, self-esteem, self-control, internetaddiction, and analyses related influencing factors; explore the relationship betweenpsychological factors (subjective well-being, self-esteem, self-control) and internetaddiction. We aim at getting the effects mechanism of psychological factors(subjective well-being, self-esteem, self-control) on internet addiction, andrecommending for the prevention and intervention of internet addiction.Method:1551participants were chose by sampling at random, and they wereinvestigated by subjective well-being scale, self-esteem scale, self-control scale andInternet addiction scale. The tool of data entry is Epidata3.1. Data analysis and modelbuilding are via SPSS18.0, AMOS18.0. Statistical methods include t-test, ANOVAanalysis, Chi-square test, correlation analysis, hierarchical regression and structuralequation modeling (SEM).Result: report rate of Internet addiction is5.48%(n=85), the rate of male is54.12%(n=46), and the female is45.88%(n=39). Adolescent score of Internetaddiction has a significant difference in gender, grade, single parent or not, familyincome per month, different level of subjective well-being, self-esteem, andself-control. Contribution rates of subjective well-being for self-esteem, self-control, internet addiction are23.6%,8.7%,6.5%, contribution rates of self-esteem,self-control for internet addiction are5.8%,10.7%, with the self-esteem, self-controlentered the regression equation in turn, function together, the contribution rate ofsubjective well-being to internet addiction gradually increased from6.5%to8.3%,14.3%, growth are1.8%,6.0%. During the mediation model of subjective well-beingand Internet addiction, the mediating effect ratio of self-esteem and self-controlfunction together to direct effect is67.59%, the mediating effect ratio of self-esteemto the direct effect is27.38%, and the ratio of self-control is40.21%.Conclusion: adolescent subjective well-being, self-esteem, self-control aresignificantly related with Internet addiction. Subjective well-being, self-esteem,self-control can significantly explain the internet addiction, self-esteem andself-control play important mediating roles in the relationship between adolescentsubjective well-being and Internet addiction. Their combined mediating effects aremore than partial effects.
