Objective: to evaluate the clinical application value of SPECT/CTimaging in single lesion of the spine. Methods: we choose155cases of patients with single spine lesions wasobserved in whole body bone imaging,84cases of male,71cases offemale,from23to79years old,the average age was59. underwent the CTexamination after completing the whole body bone scan which has not cleardiagnostic. acquisition conditions for120kv, automatic mA·S, thick was2.5mm,using the xeleris nuclear image processing workstation finished theSPECT/CT fusion image. There are two doctors of nuclear medicine and onedoctor from CT Department, read together, make a diagnosis and comparewith the final diagnosis.Result: As shown in the whole body bone imaging lesion area, shape canbe divided into:(1) uptake in the whole vertebral (2) uptake in part of thevertebral bodies2(3)uptake in the involvement of adjacent vertebral (4)uptake in the vertebral with flat shape (5) uptake in the edge of the vertebral (6)uptake in vertebral with dot thick poly (7) uptake in side or both sides of thevertebral.among155patients of spinal single lesion, SPECT diagnosis of114cases of positive and negative in41cases, the sensitivity of diagnosis was95.9%, specificity was46.3%, false positive53.7%and false negative4.1%,positive predictive value was61.4%, negative predictive value92.7%. SPECT/CT diagnosis of84cases of positive and negative71cases, the sensitivitywas95.9%, specificity82.9%, false positive was17.1%, false negative4.1%,positive predictive value was83.3%, negative predictive value of95.8%.SPECT/CT and SPECT for single lesions of the spine effectiveness byusing SPSS13.0statistical software analysis, it is concluded that the2=44.34,P﹤0.001, with statistical significance. Conclusion: although the whole body bone imaging examination methodfor routine screening for malignant tumor, but bone scan has somedisadvantage, the specificity is low, especially for diagnosing the single spinallesions, there are some difficulties, SPECT/CT combined the functionalspecificity of SPECT and anatomic specificity of CT, to compensate theshortcoming of the low diagnostic specificity, reduce the false-positive rate ofwhole body bone scintigraphy, has certain clinical value in improve thediagnostic rate of single spine disease.
