Private hospital, from the early1980s to today in our country has experienced the birth of thirty years of development has taken shape of the health sector to become an important part of our country’s medical and health undertakings made important contributions. However, as China’s economic system reform and the constant deepening of China’s private hospitals are facing unprecedented competition and challenges. In an increasingly competitive environment, how to maintain the prosperity of private hospitals and healthy development, the community has become a topic of general concern.In this paper, as a carrier of private hospitals in Gansu Province, on the basis of access to modern hospital management and other related theories, through the Gansu province at all levels, various forms of private hospitals and field survey data obtained from the system for processing and careful analysis to grasp the development of Private Hospitals in Gansu Province and the problems in the construction, management and services in three areas exist. For questions, detailed analysis of the causes of problems inside and outside the private hospital in Gansu Province. And then based on these facts, combined with the economic development of China’s Gansu Province, and in the area of health policy, put forward countermeasures to promote the healthy and orderly development of private hospitals in Gansu Province.Paper is divided into four parts:The first part describes the background significance, research ideas and methods. The second part describes the development of private hospitals theory and policy, first introduced the connotation and characteristics of private hospitals, followed by introduction of the SWOT theory used in this paper, and finally presents the current research on domestic and foreign private hospital, and the third were made from the first part of the national policy, the medical industry control system, the public and medical professionals these four aspects of the development of private hospitals in Gansu province needs of the external environment, focusing on the policy support to promote the development of private hospitals on the external environment is the most important.
