| ObjectiveThe differences of brain activity in resting state were explored betweenfirst-episode major depressive disorder(MDD) and3years later whose depressiveemotion were remitted. Application of ALFF and local consistency ReHo analyticalmethods were used to find the differences.Method13first-episode depressive disorder patients (depression group)beforeantidepressant treatment and3years later whose depressive emotion were remitted(remitted group)and14sex, age and education matched healthy controls underwentresting state fMRl scanning(All of the participators were recruited from the FirstHospital of Shanxi Medical University). Two Sample T-Test(P<0.001) were used toanalysis the depression group and the control group and the remitted group and thecontrol group,Paired T-test (P<0.001) was used to analysis the depression group andthe remitted group.Results1.General information between groups:there were no significant difference between first-episode MDD and healthy controlsregarding age, gender and education.2.results of fMRI2.1depression group and the control2.1.1ALFF analysisCompared to the healthy control, the ALFF of TemporalMidL—aal,CaudateBody and Inferior Parietal Lobule were significantly decreased, no regions increasedin depression group. 2.1.2ReHo analysisCompared to the healthy control, the ReHo of TemporalIR, inf一(aal)ncreased, while Cerebellum Anterior Lobe,TemporalSLI—upaal, and nsula L (aal) weresignificantly increased in the depression group.2.2the remitted group and the control2.2.1ALFF analysisCompared with the control the ALFF of FrontalSal一upL—(a) were significantlyincreased while LingualRiaal sgnificantly decreased.2.2.2ReHo analysisCompared with the healthy control the ReHo of Calcairne R (aal),SupraMarginalRaif—(al) were signicantly increased, while Precuneus R (aal) wassignificantly decreased.2.3remitted group paired to depression group2.3.1ALFF analysisCompared with the untreated first-episode major depressive disorder patients, theALFF of Temporal MidR (aal) was significantly increased in the remitted group?2.3.2ReHo analysisCompared with the untreated first-episode major depressive disorder patients, the ReHo of Fusiform R (aal), TemporalMid L一(aal), PrecuneusRaal weresignificantly increased in the remitted patients, while OccipitalMidLaal一—() wassignificantly decreased in the remitted.Conclusion(1)Compared to the healthy controls, abnormal activity was found infirst-episode depressive disorder patients during resting state.(2)Abnormal activity regions can be normaled by antidepressant treatment, which may rely on the state of the patients.(3)Some abnormal areas were found in the remitted patients, which may relatedto the antidepressant drug or depression compensatory role in brain function. |
