Objective: Inflammation may play a important role in etiology andprogression in Dilated Cardiomyopathy(DCM), we aim to explore theassociation between the plasma Interleukin-33(IL-33),ST2levels and DCMwith Chronic heart failure(CHF).And to investigate the effect of Rosuvastatinon the plasma level of IL-33、ST2in patients of DCM with CHF.Methods:32DCM patients were enrolled from the People’s Hospital ofguangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from December2012to August2013,which composed of22males and10females,,and were evaluated asNYHA(New York Heart Association) III-IV. All study subjects wererandomly divided into rosuvastatin intervention group and controlgroup.Rosuvastatin intervention group were given the standard therapyincluding the angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEI)/Angiotensinreceptor blockers(ARB), beta blockers, digitalis, diuretics and other medicineto cure the heart failure, combined with rosuvastatin (J)(astrazeneca company)10mg/night,12weeks Control group were also given the standard therapy asrosuvastatin group.Fasting blood ST2, IL-33, N-terminal pro brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), lowdensity lipoprotein (LDL-C), left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVDD),left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) were measured after12weeks.Results:(1)The plasma level of ST2、IL-33were significantly higher thanHealthy controls group (0.186±0.01ng/ml VS0.129±0.025ng/ml,16.27±3.9pg/ml VS9.5±4.0pg/ml, respectively, P<0.01).(2)Correlation analysisshowthere was a positive correlation between the ST2, IL-33levels andNT-proBNP, LVDD, creatinine, uric acid. There was negative correlationbetween ST2, IL-33levels and LVEF.Conclusion:(1)The plasma IL-33and ST2levels were increased in patientsof DCM with CHF, and there were positive correlation between the ST2, IL-33levels and NT-proBNP, LVDD, creatinine, uric acid, and negative correlation tothe LVEF,(2)Rosuvastatin (J) could reduce the plasma IL–33and ST2level inpatients of DCM with CHF.
