The Research On Vaccine Adverse Event Monitoring System In China

Immunization has become the most economical, convenient and effective way to prevent and control the infectious diseases in the world. Being a kind of medicine, vaccine is not absolutely safety, it could bring not only the benefit but also the risk of adverse reactions harmful to health. With the development of the society, people increasingly care life quality and personal health and pay more attention to drug safety. As vaccines are administered by the healthy individuals and mostly by children, the required safety is higher and the risk people can bear is lower than ordinary medicines. At same the time , some vaccines are the national or regional immunization program, in case of emergent, massive or serious adverse events, they may be harmful to health , result in great society influence and affect the public immunization confidence. Therefore, it is greatly significant to establish and strengthen vaccine adverse event monitoring system, prevent adverse events following immunization from repeating and extending, ensure the public health and vaccine safety to reduce the harm to society at all.The present vaccine adverse event monitoring in China is separately implemented in the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) monitoring system but a uniform and efficient reporting system has not been formed. This article introduced the vaccine adverse event monitoring system in US and the actuality in China. Compared with the advantages of US system, the problems in our system were comprehensively analyzed. Finally, according to the situation of our country some suggestions have been put forward such as establishing independent and classified reporting system , building clearly divided, harmoniously cooperative and effective working mechanism, making national uniform reporting guide, perfecting monitoring information system, strengthening propagandize and training , setting up information feedback mechanism and abnormal reaction compensation system etc.Though the study and discussion in this article, It is hoped to provide some useful references for perfecting our vaccine adverse event monitoring system.
