The dissertation is divided into two facets of variation and aesthetics:Firstly it is about the relationship between dress description and the three aesthetics features:ornamental, sad and having profound significance. Secondly, it is about the facet of its variation. This dissertation explores the reasons about the change or not of dress description. Along the clue of change, there are three reasons affecting dress description’s appearance and disappearance, from virtual to realistic: emotion (the emotion from social change, cause and love), interest, the creation theories that the author stick to. Then the change of dress description promoted the change of Ci’s styles of aesthetics:gaudy to elegant. But the not changing of dress description mainly reflected in the vocabulary about dress description. This point makes the Ci of deferent dynasties which are about the appearance description of women similar.
