Tim Burton was quite lucky in his initial period of movie profession. He couldmaintain the leading position in Hollywood was actually based on his talent andcreativity. The images created by him in the films of Edward Scissorhands, SweeneyTodd, Edward D. Wood Jr., Sleepy Hollow and Jack Skellington became the classicalcharacters in movie history since his strange, different, stimulate and creative vision.The article discussed and analyzed comprehensively on narrate and aesthetic of TimBurton’s films in five chapters.The First Chapter introduced the biography on Burton, explained and carded on itsresearching value and results.The Second Chapter utilized the newest movie narrative theory and discussed thenarrative style and the characteristic of Burton’s movies in three aspects from thenarrative angle of view, the narrative structure and the narrative skills.The Third Chapter applied aesthetic theories,expounding in an all-round way andanalyzing in-depth to the Gothic aesthetics feature of Burton’s movie that markedindividuality and special from elements from images, characters and modes ofrepresentation.The Fourth Chapter used the theory of Freudian psychoanalysis, combining withBurton’s experience and endowments to explain the instinctive consciousness of themovie.The Fifth Chapter discussed the production features and technical characteristics ofBurton’s movies and try to explore and analyze the deep reasons of Tim Burton’s moviefor commercial success from a grid animation, B-movie production and technicalinnovation, role modeling, music featured of four aspects.
