The Study On The Deviation Of Verbal Humor Of Feng Xiaogang’s Comedy Movie

Feng Xiaogang is one of the leaders of the film market in China at present. In Feng’s plays,those humorous lines are the key factor of their success, which is important to the research of hiscomedy film lines. However, the systematic research from the linguistic prospective of Feng’sfilms is still at an initial stage. Therefore, in order to study Feng’s comedy lines intensively, thispaper applies the deviation theory in two aspects, that is the deviation of pragmatic conventionsand of pragmatic principles, and analyses the composing of these humorous lines.This research is undertaken through applying deviation theory and exemplified by Feng’scomedy film lines. Firstly, it analyses the theoretical base of deviation, which lays the foundationof further analysis of Feng’s comedy film lines. Secondly, based on the zero-degree deviationtheory proposed by Wang Xijie in his book named Rhetoric Theory, this paper summarizes themajor representations of the realization of a humorous effect in Feng’s comedy film lines fromthe aspects of speech using deviation, vocabulary deviation and grammar deviation. Thirdly, itinvestigates how Feng’s works realize a humorous effect by violating the cooperative principleaccording to pragmatical theories. Finally, analyses the reason that speech deviation makeshumor and summarizes the construction of humor speech from the point of view of"language-psychology".
