It can be difficultly denied that the property of interest is a significant attribution for almostall the teaching materials for maintaining the motivation of students’ studying. However, thisattribute is generally lacking in the textbooks that are used for the foreign students who studyChinese for the purpose of the acquirement of the Chinese culture that is parallel with theChinese language.Firstly, in this thesis, the essence of the conception of property of interest is defined and theinterests by the forms and by the contents in the materials are clarified according to therelevant theory of psychology and the research of the second language teaching.Then, the deficiency of the property of interest that are both in the aspect of form and thecontent of the teaching materials of Chinese culture is informed according to the relevantresearch of second language teaching and certain textbooks of Chinese culture.Form the aspects of both the forms and the contents, the methods that are used forimproving the attribute of interest are offered applying with the theory of second languageteaching, psychology and creative writing.However, the property of interest is represented in the micro levels of the concrete formsand the contents in each class in the teaching material and it can be insufficiently expressedclearly without some samples of certain class from the material. Therefore, three classes ofsample of teaching material are designed to introduce the methods for improving the property ofinterest that are offered in this thesis profoundly, concretely and detailedly.
