| The article took the Chu marriage as object of study, selected four relevant questions to carry on the research emphatically.Firstly, research the marital season and marriage age of Chu. The ancient marital seasons are mainly mid-spring, fall and winter, pass-through year. I inspected the related literature material and inscriptions on bronze ware of Chu state about the calendar day, and unified the calendar general knowledge, drawing a conclusion that the people of Chu choose the first month of winter to mid-spring this slack farming season as wedding date generally, and by this conclusion examining in the material of ethnography. Ancient marriageable age range, a woman generally is for15to20years old, a men is20to30years old, but the monarchs or nobles could marry on their15th year-old. Inferred from aspects of historical records and the lineage of Chu state, I found that the marriage age of the people of Chu state coincided with this basic.Secondly, discuss the marriage customs of the people of Chu state. In the Western and Eastern Zhou period, as a result of the patriarchal etiquette concept continues to strengthen, the marriage of the Central Plains region are more standardized and institutionalized。 Based on analyzing the relevant historical materials, the author reviews the various links of Chu people marriage etiquette and custom, and found the similar rites of marriage culture.Thirdly, hook the marriage state of Chu. The history of the people of Chu Mystique scattered in the history books. In a marriage relationship, the gender relations, especially women’s position is an important aspect of the marriage. This paper studies on the status of women from the three aspects of political status, family status, social status. The decline of the overall status of women in the Eastern Zhou period, but compared with the Central Plains States, the women of Chu state still has relatively higher position. |
